Working in schools, homeless shelter, UNICEF, Yale’s Baby Lab, creating outpatient therapy offices, and traveling internationally put the focus on relationships and attachment. Nina became passionate about studying how we relate to one another — particularly how we learn to regulate as infants. Where does it all begin? Attachment is formed in the first few years of life, the pre-verbal years. This can be why inner child work, incorporating art + music + play can be so powerful. The way she works with people comes from a relational and attachment lens. It starts with the premise that humans crave connection, we yearn to be understood and understand others. Often people are seeking therapy to heal themselves, improve communication with loved ones, or self-regulate.

Nina started the group practice in 2020 and Saugerties Therapy Center has grown since then. It offers a unique model of therapy to increase accessibility, allowing seasoned clinicians and young clinicians to support one another's growth. In a similar way, individuals attending therapy at full cost support individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to have access to the same high quality therapist at a reduced fee. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Part of the mission is to offer therapy in a beautiful setting. So in 2023, we opened our doors in the stunning office space we now inhabit at Clovelea. Today, we have five clinicians and offer group therapy, individual therapy to children / teens / adults, as well as music and art therapy. These are scientifically proven modalities and trauma-informed practices that reduce stress, decrease mental health symptoms, increase connection, and help with palliative care.

Nina is a community oriented person, offering free therapy throughout the community, while running a community oriented campaign.
